    Frequently Asked Questions

Is Serene Calming ok to use on pregnant / lactating cats or dogs?

Serene Calming is safe for pregnant or lactating cats or dogs but may taint the milk when the mother is feeding. Just keep an eye on the kittens or puppies and make sure they are feeding okay.

When applying VETIQ Serene Calming Ointment 50g my dog licked some of the ointment off and ingested it. Is it safe?

We believe that your dog will not be harmed if they ingest the ointment. We would recommend ensuring you dog has fresh water at all times.

I have been using this product for a week now and our dog is no better, in fact worse after using the serene calming fast action ointment. What can we do?

It depends on your dog’s situation e.g. your dog is barking at people on walks or barking in the house etc, this could be a response to fear, particularly if they have not been socialised properly to different types of people or animals. If this is the main reason, then the calming ointment would help with the stress response to this. But if our dog barks out excitement and desire to meet others, the serene calming ointment will not prevent your Dog from expressing excitement, as this is not seen as a stressful or anxious event for your dog.

How long does the VETIQ Calming Ointment last?

The ointment is applied topically to the dog’s nose and begins to work within 20 minutes. The calming effect typically lasts for several hours. There is no limit on usage, it can be applied as needed and can also be used in conjunction with all of the VETIQ Serene Calming range.

If your dog’s anxiety continues, we recommend speaking with your vet for ongoing support.
