I saw that the Denti-Care Powder contains peppermint oil, can be this be toxic to my cats and dogs?
The peppermint oil is an additive that is permitted for cats and dogs by both the UK and EU authorities, as per snip below. Also, FEDIAF Nutritional Guidelines 2024 does not list any mint oil as toxic for either cats or dogs. We have been using peppermint in our dental products for several years and we have never had an issue reported by a customer or an adverse effect. Peppermint oil is present at a very low quantity in the product (0.1%), and the dosage per day is also small, so the risk of an adverse issue due to the peppermint oil is extremely low.
